Cocktails with Champagne
The collection of cocktails with sparkling wines enters into history in 1923 with the birth of the Cocktail 75, described in Harry MacElhone's guide "ABC Cocktails. In a few years, Frank Meyer at the Ritz Paris cut the calvados and grenadine out, adding gin and champagne instead. Finally, in 1930, Harry Craddock added the word "French" to the name and placed its final version in his famous collection, "The Savoy Cocktail Book."
