A tropical citrus fruit grown year-round in tropical climates, mainly in China, India and Mexico. Limes are an excellent source of vitamin C, and are often used to accent the flavors of foods and beverages. One fruit weighs an average of 3 oz, and yields 1 oz of juice. It can be cut into 4 slices, each of which contains 0.25 oz of juice.
